Selected for SF APA Top 100 !!

Two of my images were selected to be in the American Photographic Artist’s Top 100 for the 2019 juried show, Something Personal. Something Personal is an annual show featuring the work of professional members of APA from all over the US. It is a one-night show for framed work. Over 700 creatives, photographers, production professionals, and friends will show up in a San Francisco gallery in early December to enjoy the Judges’ top 100 original images on display from 50+ photographers. The fact that 2 of mine were chosen makes me feel very happy and honored!

The images chosen were from a trip I took in April to tour the Cambo factory in Kampen, Netherlands. I was testing several of their technical cameras, which I love to use in my work because of the extreme detail rendered.

Here is Tulips, Noordoostpolder, Netherlands. I wanted to capture the feeling of being in the vast fields of fresh tulips.

And below is Urk Harbor Fishing Net. Urk is a charming fishing village and I was in awe of the nets as they appeared with the beautiful afternoon light and dark clouds.

Here are a few more shots from my trip along with a behind-the-scenes photo. All photos were shot with my medium format Phase One digital back that I use in my studio because of the insane detail and exact color which is so important for food!

I enjoyed the Netherlands because there is so much old-world charm with flower pots everywhere and multiple eras of architecture from Gothic to modern. Since I trained at the Culinary Institute of America, European food brings back many special memories, too.
