Title: “State of Emotion“

About: A series of portraits that capture various states of emotion for a breakthrough mental health treatment. I worked with actors to create these portraits and what I found deeply moving and powerful was just how much they all used real experiences and memories to take themselves to these various states of intense emotion. The set was very quiet, respectful and personal while I was shooting. At times I found myself breaking down crying along with them or laughing from my gut as their giggling joy came bubbling out. There is so much to see and understand in someones face.

Title: “Clifftops“
About: Traveling around Iceland a few weeks ago, the weather did not cooperate at all. It rained and was foggy for 90% of the time there. I quickly decided that shooting with the regular Phase One back was going to produce flat light images. I therefore switched to the full spectrum digital back and coupled it with an Infra Red filter which allowed me to capture a wider spectrum of light and produce this unique mono look.

About: Creative decision was made to shoot the rare Kobe shoes in a different way. There is no CG used in the image. I printed on different colored plexiglass over 200 of the Nike Swoosh and shot them separately to the shoe. All was put together in post.
