The media is full of photos showing how the stores are empty now that everyone has stocked up in anticipation to staying home to utilize social distancing in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. My Facebook feed had a photo of someone buying a lot of toilet paper at Costco.
I recently ventured into my local Trader Joe’s to find a few forgotten items and it reminded me of my days in Florida where we would see the stores stripped before a hurricane. The shelves were bare except for a few things like cookies!
I did see a package of Oreo-like-cookies and bought them remembering that I had gummy worms at home. Who doesn’t like “Dirt and Worms”? It is a dessert that uses pudding, Oreo cookies, and gummy worms and it is served in cups. I remember making it as a pastry chef for the summer camp at the Hyatt Hotel in Scottsdale where I was the executive pastry chef.
In celebration of making the most of what is left here is a stop-motion video to make you smile!
