I was honored to be asked by APA (American Photographic Artists) to join them as one of their guest photographers to speak during the Connect 2021: Palm Springs Photo Festival week.
With the COVID-19 global pandemic still effecting the world, including the photography industry, the Palm Springs Photo Festival was held virtually. Allowing for some free events for participants to take advantage of. On Tuesday night, April 27th I was joined by Juliette Wolf-Robin, Executive Director for APA National who hosted the event, and fellow colleague and commercial photographer, Jill Broussard based out of Texas.
For an hour our discussion was centered around the topic: Leaping to the next level – What was the project or connections that helped these photographers get to the next level in their business?
In many ways it was a fun walk down memory lane, remembering specific events, moments and people in my career that have influenced me and which have stood out as pivot points along my pursuit as a photographer to get to where I am today. At the time these moments didn’t seem as relevant as they were, but it an atmosphere like this discussion with APA, it made me reflect back and acknowledge some of the key moments in my personal time line.
Although I participated in this discussion, I believe it’s helpful to hear others speak about their life and to ask yourself the same questions for your own personal reflection or to be aware of it, for when it happen to you in your career.
The entire conversation was held over ZOOM video conferencing, allowing participants to interact through Q&A messaging. If you’re reading this, than it’s almost certain to say you didn’t participate in the video conference and did not have a chance to submit a question at the time of the event, but I always like to keep the door open for a conversation and open discussion, so If there is anything I can assist with or something you would like to discuss with me, please get in touch and lets start a conversation.
Always grateful for the opportunities to meet new individuals and talk about the photography industry.
