99% of the time, my shoots happen in my Hells Kitchen studio, in familiar surroundings with all of my own gear and trusted crew. That other 1% when I have to travel and go outside my element is a total thrill. This ESPN job in particular was a pretty cool location shoot. Kris LaManna, a good friend and longtime client from Popular Science, accepted a new position at ESPN Magazine, and asked me to travel to the Nova Scotia Sports Museum to photograph a dryer from Sidney Crosby’s childhood home. Apparently, Crosby used it as a goal and shot hundreds of hockey pucks into the thing until it resembled a dalmatian. I also got to shoot one of the oldest hockey sticks in existence. Thanks @lamanna_ for such a cool opportunity!
