John Huet Helps Nike Pay Tribute to Olympic Gold Medalist Liu Xiang

In April Liu Xiang, the first Chinese man to win an Olympic Gold Medal in the Men’s Track & Field event, formally announced his retirement from the world of competitive running.

Nike, wanting to pay tribute to Liu’s lifetime achievements through their brand campaign #EvenTheOrdinaryCanFly, enlisted the help of photographer John Huet who quickly jumped on a plane to China to shoot the following series of images.

The campaign shows how a seemingly ordinary person achieves the extraordinary, capturing Liu’s pioneering spirit and inspiring a future generation of runners to believe in themselves, push beyond their limits and dream big.
