AtEdge connects active creatives and photo producers with the most talented advertising and editorial assignment photographers currently working. Participation into the program is highly selective and open to only a small number of hand-picked photographers each year. This month, we extend a very warm welcome to five visionaries who have recently joined the program.

Meet the newest AtEdge photographers, in alphabetical order:

Maya Almeida :: Michael Ash Partners

Maya Almeida
Maya has spent over a decade photographing movement & form – in and out of water. Her inspiration comes from living in place of limitless possibility. And as a photographer she hopes to transport the viewer to a place removed from reality. Raised near the ocean in Portugal ,Maya spent her school years swimming competitively at European level and then went on to study Biology at Imperial College in London. So as a photographer, she is completely self-taught. It was water that drew her to photograph. Maya has been commissioned & collaborated with a range of commercial and private clients such as Dance UK, BBC Wildlife Magazine, CHI & Partners, Balbir Singh Dance Company, AD Dance Company, D&B Performing Arts, The English National Ballet, Body of People Dance Company & The Nureyev Medical Foundation. Maya’s images have also been used by the Akram Khan Dance Company. AtEdge Portfolio

Vic Huber :: Deb Ayerst

Vic Huber
When it comes to the photography of Vic Huber, it is difficult to qualify with words, what is already exemplified by his imagery. “In a difficult world with much ugliness, …I feel a need, a responsibility, to express and share the amazing beauty that I see surrounding each of us.” With early beginnings as an editorial “car shooter” in Southern California, Vic Huber’s zeal for art developed into an expansive commercial photographic career. Notable mentors, including Jeff Zwart and William Claxton, reinforced Vic’s fervent need to create images. His vision is that of artistry, concept, and depth. It emanates from his honest dedication to craftsmanship, technique, and unwavering attention to detail. Outlasting the fickle trends of advertising, Vic interprets his understanding of the automotive form through the light and space of painting and sculpture. Much of his commercial work has a gallery-quality that illustrates the automobile as art. AtEdge Portfolio

Matt Sartain :: Tidepool Reps

Matt’s interest in photography stemmed from his love of cinema. This may be why his work is filled with lush narratives, characters and adventures. Always with an interest in portraiture, it wasn’t until Matt began studying for his MFA in photography from The Academy of Art in San Francisco that he began conceptualizing and compositing images into photo illustrations filled with deep narratives. Matt lives in California where he works on producing imagery so that it might reach a wide audience whom he can inspire with his imaginative worlds. AtEdge Portfolio
