ILLUMINARIES_redux

As part of the Leica Store DC’s participation in FotoWeek DC I was asked to speak about ILLUMINARIES, my portrait project shot exclusively with their medium format S2 camera and 120mm lens. The camera is a joy to work with and the files were breathtaking. Albeit a bit heavy, the camera handles like a 35mm and is designed to exacting Leica specs…something akin to camera as Porsche 911.

I’ve discovered how much easier it is for me to talk extemporaneously, especially about something I am so passionate about. So with over forty people in attendance I was thrilled to be able to discuss the project in depth and present the images individually which lent them an added bit of oomph. Luckily, with a recent update to Apple’s Keynote software, I was able to use a lovely template that mimics a portfolio and lends itself well to featuring single images with minimal caption information.

Big thanks to Leica and to the team at Leica DC: Eric, Werner and Aziz.
