Mechanical engineer Mimi Zou has designed the next great camera –at least in concept. Called “Iris,” this amazing bit of biometric tech would recognize users through an eyeball scan, and load camera settings accordingly; what’s even more fantastic is that the camera focuses as your eye does –zooming in and out accordingly –and takes a picture when you blink. Biometric technology would also allow users to instantly tag people being photographed, as well as instantly upload via Wifi, or save to an SD card.
As a representative of many photographers, exciting new concepts like this get me excited about what technology is doing –and will continue to do –to change the way we take pictures. Read all about this fascinating idea right here.
