Additive 72 / 75 – Tertiary-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ)
It doesnâ€™t smell, but it is used in perfumes. It has a name that scares a lot of people, but it is hugely popular. It is used in extremely low doses as an antioxidant, but that also makes it a good corrosion inhibitor in biodiesel fuel. And most of us canâ€™t pronounce it: tertiary-butylhydroquinone. Luckily, it can be easily abbreviated to TBHQ.
